Britain - I've heard for some time now that the churches in Britain are faced with dwindling congregations. Back on 2003-08-14, I posted a bit on Britain's churches seeking advice from ad agencies. Perhaps this is one of the ideas to come from that. Petre writes,
"A poster depicting a Nativity scene in which the infant Jesus is dressed in a shockingly red Father Christmas-style suit and hat is to be used to encourage churchgoing this Christmas. The poster is going to appear at one thousand locations in December and will be joined by radio adverts too. I've got mixed feelings on this. On one hand it looks rather sacrilegious, but on the other it looks like a really good way to remind people why we celebrate Christmas. In an attempt to promote the Christian festival as more than an opportunity to spend money, the slogan beneath the traditional tableau reads: 'Go on, ask Him for something this Christmas.'"
What do you think?
