The Super Store that has Everything - Wal-Mart is arguably one of the biggest money making company in the world. They carry practically anything you want or need and if they don't offer a service or product than perhaps one of the companies that is set up in their "Super Stores" does.
To prove that point, the day before Thanks Giving, a judge was in need of a service. So he sent some officers to the local Wal-Mart to shop for jurors.
That's right. Jurors.
Here's an excerpt from the AP report on Yahoo!® News:
Judge Ripley Eagles Rand ordered deputies Wednesday to go to the department store after he failed to find enough possible jurors for a murder trial set to begin Monday. About half of the 150 jurors summoned for the case were excused or had their duty deferred, a court clerk said.
This didn't make many of the shoppers happy. Which is of course, unfortunate. It is certainly a necessary part of our society. Serving on a jury that is, not shopping for Jurors at Wal-Mart.
The officers did manage to find 50 jurors. There's no mention of how much each scanned for at the checkout. The Wal-Mart website has yet to post this particular inventory item, but it is assumed that they have an inventory in the billions world wide.
