Arrest Her! - Here is the odd animal story of the week and it happened in my area of the country.
Chris Tisch and Megan Scott reporting for the St. Petersburg Times:
People on S Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue got a ringside seat to watch a battle between a woman and a snake Monday afternoon. They didn't like what they saw.
The woman kicked, stomped and at one point choked the approximately 7-foot anaconda. When onlookers told her to stop and approached her, the woman ran away, dragging the snake behind her.
Police were called, the chase was on, the woman dropped the injured snake behind some buildings and then was later arrested by the police because of an outstanding warrant.
The snake didn't fair well and had to be euthanized.
Sad? Sure. But odd none the less.
Consider this: The woman was homeless and she claims the snake was her's and that she wanted to kill it.
Ok. Despite the oddity that there was a 7-foot anaconda slithering around in a country where they are not indigenous, how much more odd is it that a homeless woman would have one as a pet?
Weird.
Hmm? Maybe she was going to cook it. I wonder how many meals a 7-foot anaconda would make?
