Oh, but it's not what we intended - Keith Peters, the Washington, D.C., correspondent for Family News in Focus has a report about a political snafu in Macedonia.
It seems that a group calling itself The Center for Civil and Human Rights (CCHR) has been actively promoting the sin of homosexuality by showcasing men and women in "suggestive poses" on roadway billboards. Oh, and they've been using the United States embassy seal on the billboards too.
Peters writes:
Macedonian President Boris Trajkovski was appalled that the United States would sponsor such a message — but Susan Pittman of the U.S. State Department said it was all a big mistake.
Turns out, according to Pittman, that the Macedonian organization, CCHR, also used the seal on posters and brochures, but that none of it was approved by the U.S.
Why you ask would the U.S. need to approve of what a Macedonian organization would do in the first place?
Well, Pittman tells Peters that the U.S. State Department ponied up $20,000.00 to help CCHR for,
...legal aid and counseling for victims of discrimination. Connie Mackey, vice president of government affairs for the Family Research Council, blamed the mix-up on "loose funding."
Well, sounds more like loose morals to me.
The Great Separation continues.
