Books? How'd you know I read books? - I found this little exercise via Carsen Young's blog who found it via Tony Rosen's blog who found it via Jen who found it via Jared. I found Carsen Young via Tony Rosen.
Funny how all that works.
Any way. Here is the exercise:
1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 23.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
Okay... shuffle of papers, 'Careful, don't want to knock it all over'... okay. Here we go.
"If we have only our senses as we pass cemeteries, and the knowledge that we gain as we travel the rapid journey of life, we will have to conclude that those who have died are still dead and that there is no evidence for a resurrection of the dead."
Resurrection His and Ours, David A. Dean. Published by The Advent Christian General Conference of America.
Well, there you go.
I also had the choice of G.K. Chesterton, Charles Dickens, Henry Ward Beecher, and L.E. Maxwell. But Dean was on the top of the stack.
