They hate you because of me - Jiang Zongxiu, a 34-year old wife and mother, was arrested on June 18 for passing out Bibles in the Guizhou province. The police claim she was "spreading rumors and inciting to disturb social order" and so were planning on holding her for fifteen days, but she died in their custody on day one.
Her mother-in-law, Tan Dewei, who was arrested with Jiang but later released, told reporters police kicked Jiang repeatedly during interrogation.
Police later informed Jiang's family she had died of a sudden illness and turned over her body to the family, but relatives saw the body was covered with bruises and blood stains, the report alleged.
Jiang's home town is demanding an investigation into the deeds of the police in this incident. The question is will they get one or will they get further beatings.
Bibles continue to be banned from bookstores by the Chinese government.
Don't forget to pray for the persecuted church (Hebrews 13:3).
The Great Separation continues.
