They hate you because of me - I've been following the story of Brian O'Connor, a Christian from India, who was working in Saudi Arabia.
If you've been following his plight along with me, then you will remember that he was arrested, hung upside down, beaten, and tortured with electricity for the simple fact that he is a Christian in a nation where being anything but a Muslim is highly prohibited.
AsiaNews.it is reporting on the current condition two visitors from the Indian Embassy found him in and also that he may soon be released:
AsiaNews spoke by telephone with Dr Naharan, who saw O’Connor in al-Hair prison on July 25. “I found O’Connor in reasonable physical conditions but he did suffer a lot,” Dr Naharan reported. “He said he had not yet been told on what charges he was arrested. The Saudi Muttawa or religious police accuses him of preaching Christianity and possessing liquor.”...
...According to Middle East Concern, O’Connor was visited on July 26 by a representative of Prince Salman Ibn Abdul Aziz, governor of Riyadh Region. The Saudi official spoke with the prisoner for about an hour and told him that he should be released within two weeks and be back on the job or on his way to India.
AsiaNews.it also reports one thing that O'Connor said to the visitors from the Indian Embassy:
“I am confident that the Lord will turn this mess into a message and my test into a testimony.”
We very much need to keep this man in prayer.
The Great Separation continues.
