Check this out. - Well, I did state in the previous post that you would likely not hear much from me. But I'm bored and can't do a lot, like tie my shoes, so I've been reading a bit and emailing (slowly) - some things I've not had a lot of time to do lately.
First off Stacy at MediaSoul has a "They hate you because of me" about a dance instructor fired for playing Christian music. You know. Like Bach. Here's the link to Stacy's post and the link to the article.
Bryan at The Narrow has a particularly sad post titled, "Pastor Denies Existence Of God."
Both Stacy and Byran note that Benny Hinn appears to be angry that he didn't get anything out of Nigeria for the 4 million dollars he apparently spent there. The amazing part is that the Word of God gets out despite such people.
I've some thoughts on the whole Newsweek fiasco. Newsweek was wrong to print the story but the Muslims involved in the riots seem to me to be really to blame for the deaths because their mentality is the same mentality that leads them to blow up their own holy mosques, store weapons in them, or use them as a sniper's nest. It's the same mentality that leads them to use children as bombs. Seizing on this article from Newsweek is just a PR ploy on the part of terrorists.
For more on the whole fiasco see Double Toothpicks, La Shawn Barber's complete coverage, The Narrow, Rantingprofs on the White House's pressure, and Lance in Iraq writes that Newsweek is "Making our work more difficult."
On another note I highly recommend clicking over to Christian Conservative and reading his insightful post titled, "Our children pay the price." Here's a snippet:
The FBI’s IINI (Innocent Images National Initiative) was formed in 1995 to police the internet for users of child pornography and to capture sexual predators who use the web to locate minor children. As of 2002, the INNI has reported a 1,997% increase to its case load since inception, anticipating crimes against children will continue to rise.
And an update on the idea for the Christian Bloggers' Prayer Network: I'm still thinking things through. I'm slow that way. Just hang with me. I've been trying to decide how it should be implemented and I'm leaning to a simple email list hosted somewhere. K.I.S.S. keeps coming to mind. Keep It Simple Stupid.
I've received a couple of suggestions that I'm ferreting out. So I'll let everyone know more soon.
