Study to shew thyself approved unto God.... - Have you ever been troubled by something that has weighed upon your spirit, prayed about it, and then opened the Word of God and gotten your answer?
It happened to me today. Again. It isn't a first and I'm sure it's not the last. It's a great joy when it does happen because you know the Lord of Hosts is listening and caring for you.
Anywho, here's the scripture God sent to me today when I opened my Bible and picked no particular book or chapter to read:
“Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.” (Ga 1:10 NIV)
I knew that scripture and the spirit of it. In fact just today I was discussing what was troubling me with one of my Aunts and I paraphrased this principle to her, basically saying I know this is true but I still feel disappointed in so-and-so's action or lack there of in giving credit were I thought credit was due.
Sometimes the flesh is such a burden.
But reading that scripture today really set my spirit at peace and reminds me that I am God's bought by Christ crucified and raised to life with the Father.
To Him belongs all Glory, Laud, and Honor.
