Seeking as for hidden treasure. - Here is the Bible study questions for John chapter 9.
I'm sorry it's a week late. Work last week kept me rather occupied and since our Church Bible Study group just finished chapter 6 I must admit I didn't have that added pressure pushing me to get it done. I don't know if I work better under pressure but that's were I often find tasks accomplished. ;-)

- Read through the questions of this Bible study and then read chapter 9 of John and write down any questions and insights that come to you.
- Why did the disciples ask Jesus the question of who's fault was the blindness of the man? Verses 1,2.
- Does Jesus' answer apply to all birth defects or just this one man? Verses 3-5.
- What is Christ speaking of in verses 4 and 5?
- Was the healing of this man instantaneous? Was it dependent upon anyone besides Christ? Verses 3-7.
- Is the healing of this man any different from the other times that Christ healed the blind? If so, why is it different? Try to use your Bible to look up other incidents.
- Does how Christ healed this man remind you of any other miracle in the Bible?
- What kind of assembly is taking place in verses 13 through 34?
- Why is it that the man finds himself giving testimony before the Pharisees after he receives his healing? Verses 8-16.
- What is the reaction of the Pharisees when they learn that Jesus healed this man of his blindness? Verses 13-18.
- What do you learn about the those present at the man's questioning in verse 18? Is this true of people today? Consider verses 30-34 in your answer.
- What are the Pharisees asking and saying in verse 24 about Christ? See Joshua 7:19 for an explanation of the phrase, "Give God the glory?"
- Why do the Pharisees get upset with the man once blind? Verses 24-34.
- In verse 34, what do the Pharisees fail to recognize about themselves?
- What does the label "the Son of Man" mean (NIV translation - also see other translations)? Verse 35.
- What is Christ asking the man in verse 35?
- What does Christ mean in verse 39?
- What is the theme and message of this Chapter?
