Parents beware. - A game mod (gamer speak for modification) unlocks a sexually explicit mini-game in the very popular computer/video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas By Rockstar Games.
The game already carries a "M" rating for explicit violence but now there is an investigation by the ESRB board looking into whether or not the title should be changed to AO (Adults Only).
The mod in question does not add the scenes to the game. It merely toggles a bit in the code of the game making the mini-sex games available. Rockstar Games put the bit into the game so that they could turn off the code for the mini-sex game in the released version.
I guess they thought that would be easier than removing the code. Not being a programer, I don't know. Of course the easiest thing to do would not to write it in the first place.
So the popular trend of combining sex and violence continues to unfold in the video game industry.
Ratings of course mean nothing because there really isn't any teeth behind them.
If video game companies refuse to censor themselves then parents become the first line of defense against these games which do influence the mind of children.

I've said it before and I will say it again: video games are not the sole negative influence upon children, but they are a large piece to the puzzle when it comes to acts violence. Because of the interactive nature of video games they do condition response and when you have minds of mush playing such games, reality is often blurred. This isn't only true of children, the military uses video games to condition soldiers too.
