A Few Quick Headlines Today.

Worth checking out - Greetings. Here's several headlines that caught my eye today and are worth noting I think.

First, there's this bit from ABC's The Blotter blog: New Al Qaeda Web Ad Threatens 'Big Surprise'. --- a reminder to be more vigilant in the least.

LifeNews.com has this report: Connecticut Planned Parenthood Did Abortion in Sexual Abuse Coverup. This news item has several things:

• Kidnapping of a 15 year-old girl.
• Sexual abuse.
• Abortion to cover it up.
• DNA Evidence in a criminal police investigation.

One of the things that stuck out to me in particular is that the attourney for the man who allegedly did the kidnapping, abuse, and took the girl to get a forced abortion had this to say:

Gault's attorney, Gerald Klein, told the Associated Press he was surprised to learn of the DNA and the match police found in the testing.

I thought that when a woman had a termination of pregnancy, that that was the end of it, so to speak," Klein said outside court. "But, apparently, they have the fetus."

That quote gives me chills.

Here's two news items dealing with the Christian persecution continuing in Egypt.

1. Congressman Trent Franks calls on Egypt’s President Mubarak to address growing deterioration of religious freedom.
2. 'We are Christian,' boys tell Muslims.

That latter item is interesting because the two youths, thirteen and eleven, had to take a test on Islam that would mean they were converting from Christianity to Islam. If the boys didn't take the test they would not be allowed to continue schooling. The boys took a stand and wrote on their exams that they were Christian, claiming Christ as Lord and Savior.

If you have children and bought them some toys since the beginning of 2005, then you need to see this article concerning a huge recall of Chinese made toys for Mattel. The toys are high in lead paint.

• More lead-poison toys from China recalled.

Speaking about China and their production practices there's this oddity:

• Profiting from panda poo.

It seems that a panda research center is making their souvenirs out of the panda droppings. Kind of fits in with all the recalls and poor factory standards, if you ask me. Not to worry though, the makers say it doesn't smell too bad.
