For your reading pleasure... - Book review by Peggy Paxton:
Blood Brothers by Rick Acker is an exciting story, centered around two brothers's, Karl and Gunnar Bjornsen, struggle over control of a pharmaceutical empire which they founded together. The development and the potential success of a new drug, a neural stimulant that increases strength and intelligence, causes Karl to sue Gunnar. Gunnar hires Ben Corbin to defend him.
As Ben develops Gunnar's defense the already high level of bitter sibling rivalry escalates. Signs of embezzelment and black market deals surface. Violence and murder take place. Grisly consequences of the new drug emerge. As Ben confronts these events he and his wife, Noelle, also must deal with their own relationship issues. Their two friends and associates also confront a faith issue as they work on the case.
While there were moments of getting lost in technical jargon and descriptions (only because I am a technically unfriendly person) I didn't want to put the book down. It's a very good suspense read. I've got to get ahold of his prequel to this book, Dead Man's Rule.
It is published by Kregel Publications.
