Caroll doesn't waste any time in starting us on this 7-day adventure. U.S. Marshal Roark Holland is transporting a donor heart for a government witness when a blizzard takes his plane down. Brannon and her partner, Lincoln, must save those on board and get the heart delivered before the witness dies. Otherwise a huge child trafficking ring will slip further into darkness.
Reading Caroll's novel is akin to watching episodes of the t.v. Series, 24. The pace is fast and riveting. The characters are strong and real. She weaves Brannon's and Roark's personal issues into the story line smoothly and in good balance with the law enforcement and child slave issues. Her writing of two little girls from Thailand was almost too hard to read and broke my heart. Heaven help our world, and our own country when it comes to this matter!
