Last Night's Fortune Cookie Kinda Scared Me.

How about them cookies? - Here, I scanned the fortune for you. It's definitely an oddity in my book.

I don't think I've ever received a warning. And it certainly isn't the kind of warning I want to read after having completed my meal.

Today's Cracked Fortune Cookie Wisdom.

Eat this! - Well now, I love Asian cuisine. I even love getting the fortune cookie at the end of the meal because it typically makes me smile and sometimes even laugh. Where else can you find an oddity prepackaged in a cookie?

I've a small collection of some that where just too good. Here's one:

A smile is your personal welcome mat.

I don't know whether to say, "Don't tread on me," to that or, "Please wash your feet first."

Last Night's Stupid Fortune Cookie.

Can I get a refund? - I went out last night with a number of friends from church after our Bible Study (we're on chapter 10 of John) and at the end of the meal the complimentary fortune cookies were brought on the typical black tray with the bill.

And one of us got this fortune:

"You are the mast of every situation."

What??

Spelling error? Typo? Ancient Chinese secret?

It was good for a laugh.

So was another fortune that informed us that "You-young" is Chinese for "Swin".

Just what "Swin" means was another question. It so needled one friend, she went home, got on the Net, and discovered that it was a misspelling. Should be "Swim".

Fortune cookies. Always an adventure in oddity.
